‘Fire Country’ Confirms Major Cast Departures for Season 4

CBS drama “Fire Country” confirmed Thursday that two original cast members will exit after three seasons, marking the biggest shakeup in the show’s history.

The departures of Stephanie Arcila (Gabriela Perez) and Billy Burke (Vince Leone) represent a significant shift for the firefighter series, which had maintained its original seven-member cast since the 2022 pilot. The announcement comes as the show prepares for its fourth season premiere on October 17, 2025.

Showrunner Details Gabriela’s Final Episodes

Executive producer Tia Napolitano revealed that Arcila will appear in the Season 4 premiere, titled “Goodbye for Now,” providing closure for her character’s three-season arc.

“We’re so happy to have Stephanie back, to have Gabriela back in the premiere, and we really wrote a love letter to the character,” Napolitano told TV Insider. “We will see glimpses of Bodiela [the relationship between exes Bode and Gabriela]. It’s really a beautiful sendoff for now that’s fitting to the character.”

The showrunner described Gabriela’s exit as “fan candy” for viewers who have followed the character’s journey alongside Max Thieriot’s Bode Leone throughout the series.

First Season 4 Promotional Material Released

Alongside the casting news, “Fire Country” released its first promotional image for Season 4, showing star Max Thieriot in full firefighting gear against a backdrop of blazing flames. The image appeared on the show’s official Instagram account, generating excitement among fans ahead of the October premiere.

The Season 4 premiere episode, officially titled “Goodbye for Now,” will address the aftermath of Season 3’s cliffhanger ending, which left the fates of Sharon Leone, Vince Leone, and Walter uncertain following a devastating fire.

Production Updates and Streaming Availability

The CBS drama has been filming Season 4 in Vancouver, Canada, with behind-the-scenes footage released in August showing the cast and crew in production. The series will continue its Friday night timeslot at 9 p.m. ET/PT, followed by the premiere of spinoff “Sheriff Country” starring Morena Baccarin.

While Seasons 1-3 remain available on Paramount+, Netflix added Season 2 to its platform on August 1, expanding the show’s streaming reach. Season 1 has been available on Netflix since earlier this year.

The official Season 4 premiere logline reads: “In the aftermath of the Zabel Ridge fire, Station 42 faces internal turmoil but must rally together for a high-stakes rescue that tests their strength, loyalty, and the future of the firehouse”.

Created by Max Thieriot, Tony Phelan, and Joan Rater, “Fire Country” follows young convict Bode Donovan as he seeks redemption through California’s prisoner firefighting program in his hometown of Edgewater.
