Chainsaw Man-The Movie: Reze Arc Scores Midnight Screenings, Special Formats and Earlier U.S. Release

Tokyo, September 13, 2025 - Chainsaw Man-The Movie: Reze Arc will receive exclusive midnight screenings across Japan’s major cities and debut in MX4D, 4DX and Dolby Cinema formats, while Sony Pictures has advanced the U.S. release to October 24.

Fans will get a first glimpse of the film’s explosive Reze Arc storyline with late-night showings in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka and Hokkaido beginning September 19, accompanied by immersive MX4D, 4DX and Dolby Cinema experiences. These special presentations promise intensified action sequences and atmospheric effects, showcasing MAPPA’s high-octane animation in gut-punch detail.

Sony Pictures Entertainment secured worldwide theatrical rights and confirmed that Western audiences can catch Reze Arc five days earlier than planned. The film will now open October 24 in the United States, ahead of its previously scheduled October 29 date, and roll out across more than 80 territories between September 24 and October 30. The U.K. release remains slated for October 29.

Denji’s dark romance with café worker Reze reaches its dramatic apex as the Chainsaw Man battles the Bomb Devil and wrestles with betrayal, love and survival. Reina Ueda reprises her role as Reze under the direction of Tatsuya Yoshihara, with script by Hiroshi Seko and production by MAPPA, promising one of the year’s most anticipated anime features.
