Island Stars Unite for Fiji Tribute Concert in Honolulu

Lead Over 30,000 people gathered today at the Tom Moffatt Waikīkī Shell and Kapiʻolani Regional Park in Honolulu to honor late reggae legend George “Fiji” Veikoso with a free, star-studded tribute concert featuring J Boog, Common Kings and Maoli.

Nut Graf Organized by the Kinaʻole Foundation and City and County of Honolulu agencies, the concert celebrated Fiji’s legacy with live performances, community festivities and a global livestream-underscoring the island’s deep connection to his music and aloha spirit.

Performances

  • Doors opened at 4:00 p.m. HST, with the first set beginning at 5:00 p.m. at the Waikīkī Shell; a ticketed video-screen viewing area in Kapiʻolani Park welcomed fans from noon.
  • Headliners J Boog, Common Kings and Maoli led a lineup of over 20 artists, including The Green, Sammy Johnson and Irie Love, performing Fiji’s most beloved hits.
  • The concert concluded at 9:50 p.m., ending with a communal sing-along of “Sweet Darlin’,” Fiji’s most streamed track.

  • Event sponsors coordinated with Honolulu police, fire and medical teams to manage traffic, parking and on-site security; road closures and shuttle services were in place around Waikīkī Shell and Kapiʻolani Park.
