MTSU Kicks Off True Blue Tour and Hosts Homecoming Skate Night

Lead Middle Tennessee State University launched its statewide True Blue Tour in Shelbyville and welcomed students to Rollin’ on Route Blue Skate Night at the Campus Recreation Center Tuesday evening.

Campus Recruitment Tour

  • President Sidney A. McPhee and admissions staff opened the 2025 True Blue Tour at the Blue Ribbon Circle Club in Shelbyville, marking the first of 15 stops designed to attract future Blue Raiders.
  • The tour will visit 14 additional cities, including first-time stops in Cookeville (Sept. 18) and Gallatin (Oct. 23), offering 6 p.m. receptions for students and 12:30 p.m. luncheons for counselors.
  • Last year’s tour awarded over $1.18 million in scholarships, many of which enticed recipients now enrolled on MTSU’s 550-acre campus.

Homecoming Activity

  • In tandem with campus celebrations, the Student Government Association hosted Rollin’ on Route Blue Skate Night from 7-10 p.m., providing free skates and music to kick off Homecoming Week.
  • Glow Golf followed at the Campus Recreation Center, offering a nighttime miniature golf experience under black lights.

Looking Ahead MTSU’s True Blue Tour continues Thursday in Cookeville, while Homecoming events ramp up with Glow-in-the-Dark Golf and a parade later this week, culminating in the Blue Raiders’ game against Marshall at Floyd Stadium on Sept. 20.
