Maharashtra: Alert but No Official Holiday
- Cities including Mumbai, Pune, Thane and Raigad are under Orange and Red IMD alerts for heavy showers, thunderstorms and gusty winds up to 40 km/h.
- Mumbai’s BMC has not yet announced a closure, but parents are advised to monitor school WhatsApp groups and municipal notices for any late updates.
- Pune schools in Hadapsar and adjacent areas closed on September 15 after overnight flooding; tomorrow’s status will be confirmed by morning advisory bulletins.
Telangana & Tamil Nadu: Warnings in Place
- Telangana’s IMD warnings cover 33 districts with forecasts of heavy rains, lightning and gusty winds; no closures declared yet but parents should stay tuned.
- Tamil Nadu and Puducherry face a Yellow Alert for isolated heavy rainfall across seven districts today, with potential for sudden disruptions-official closure notices will follow local administration decisions.
Rest of India: Normal Operations
- Major states including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Karnataka and Kerala report normal school functioning, with no weather-related delays announced.
