Chase Sapphire Reserve Adds New Hotel Credit and Flexible Edit Benefits

Lead Chase has enhanced its Sapphire Reserve card by introducing a $250 annual hotel credit and making the existing $500 “The Edit” statement credit more flexible, effective January 1, 2026.

Nut Graf The updates aim to boost cardholder value and respond to competitor premium card changes by allowing cardmembers to stack multiple credits on eligible hotel stays and simplify redemption periods.

Key Enhancements

  • $250 Hotel Credit: Starting in 2026, cardholders receive a $250 credit for prepaid hotel bookings with selected brands such as IHG and Virgin Hotels.
  • Flexible $500 The Edit Credit: Instead of two fixed semiannual $250 credits, the full $500 Edit credit can be used at any time during the calendar year.
  • Continued Travel Credit: The existing $300 annual travel statement credit and other perks (Global Entry/TSA PreCheck credit, Priority Pass lounge access) remain unchanged.

Additional Benefits and Redemption Options Chase Ultimate Rewards points maintain flexible use:

  • Redeem via the Chase Travel portal at 1¢ per point, or up to 2¢ per point on Points Boost redemptions for select flights and hotels.
  • Transfer points at 1:1 to airline and hotel partners, including United MileagePlus, World of Hyatt, and others.

Why It Matters These enhancements deliver over $1,050 in combined credits (Edit, hotel and travel), reinforcing the Sapphire Reserve’s standing among premium travel cards. By consolidating and extending redemption windows, Chase addresses cardholder feedback for greater ease of use and aligns its product with evolving market offers.

Looking Ahead Cardmembers should plan to book early to maximize stacking of credits and monitor partner brands eligible for the new hotel credit. The updates go live for bookings effective January 1, 2026, with no changes to the current $795 annual fee.
