Stallone and ‘Tulsa King’ Cast Tease Season 3 Ahead of September 21 Premiere

Sylvester Stallone and the cast of Paramount+’s hit crime drama “Tulsa King” revealed new details about the upcoming third season during interviews released Wednesday, just days before the show’s September 21 premiere.
The 78-year-old action star teased that his character Dwight “The General” Manfredi will face his most formidable adversaries yet, setting up what promises to be the series’ most intense season to date.
New Enemies and Higher Stakes
Stallone described the primary antagonist as a significant threat to his character’s growing criminal empire. “Robert Patrick, who plays [Jeremiah] Dunmire, is a horror of an old school human being they dressed up as a backwards preacher, but he’s incredibly smart and violent,” Stallone told TV Insider. The actor explained that the conflict will escalate throughout all 10 episodes and continue into the next season.
The veteran actor also highlighted another major challenge for Dwight in the form of James Russo’s character “Quiet” Ray Renzetti. “He’s really old school and just tries to dominate me. What they don’t understand is, I’m gone. I started my own family,” Stallone explained.
Premiere Details Confirmed
Paramount+ officially set the Season 3 premiere date for Sunday, September 21, accompanied by the release of first-look photos from the new season. The streaming service confirmed that new episodes will drop weekly following the premiere, maintaining the same release schedule as previous seasons.
Expanding Cast and Spinoff Setup
The new season introduces several high-profile additions to the cast, including Oscar nominee Samuel L. Jackson as Russell Lee Washington Jr., an old prison associate of Dwight’s. Jackson’s character will serve as the centerpiece for the upcoming spinoff series “NOLA King,” set in New Orleans.
Robert Patrick joins as series regular Jeremiah Dunmire, described as a powerful businessman in the liquor industry who becomes a major threat to Dwight’s operations. Beau Knapp will play his son Cole Dunmire, creating a father-son antagonist duo for the season.
Record-Breaking Success Continues
The series enters its third season as Paramount+’s number one original series in 2024. Season 2 shattered platform records with 21.1 million global viewers for its premiere episode, marking the most-watched global debut in Paramount+ history. The show also generated massive online engagement with 159 million views, representing a 894% increase over the previous season.
Future Seasons Already Planned
While Paramount+ has not officially announced it, Stallone confirmed earlier this year that Season 4 production will begin soon, with hopes for a fifth season. The actor wrapped filming on Season 3 in July 2025, expressing optimism about the series’ continued expansion.
The third season promises to explore new territory as Dwight’s empire grows beyond Tulsa, setting up storylines that will carry the franchise into multiple seasons and the planned New Orleans-based spinoff series.
