Noem Launches National ICE Initiative via Social Media

WASHINGTON, D.C., Sept. 20, 2025 - Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem today unveiled a nationwide “ICE Initiative” campaign on the Department of Homeland Security’s Instagram channel, urging citizens to partner with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in securing America’s borders.

The new ICE Initiative builds on recent field operations and public engagement efforts, positioning community involvement as a critical component of the administration’s broader border-security strategy. Noem framed the campaign as an opportunity for everyday Americans to “safeguard your country” by reporting suspicious activity and supporting ICE personnel through a dedicated online portal.

ICE Initiative materials-posted under the banner “Safeguard Your Country: Join the ICE Initiative Today”-include:

  • A step-by-step guide for reporting undocumented border crossings
  • Volunteer training webinars hosted by ICE special agents
  • Regular updates on enforcement actions and success stories

Noem underscored the program’s urgency by citing last week’s Operation Midway Blitz, during which ICE agents partnered with local law enforcement in Chicago to arrest violent offenders among undocumented immigrants, including charges of assault, DUI and stalking. According to Noem, community tips during that operation led to several key arrests.

“Our safe communities depend on vigilant citizens working alongside our brave agents,” Noem said. “This initiative gives every American the tools and information they need to help protect our homeland-right from their phones or computers.”

The DHS Instagram post includes links to register for volunteer briefings, access online training modules, and sign up for neighborhood-watch alerts. Noem’s team has scheduled weekly livestreams with ICE field directors to answer public questions and highlight recent enforcement milestones.

With this social-media-driven campaign, the Department of Homeland Security aims to broaden public engagement in border security, leveraging grassroots support to complement federal enforcement priorities.
