NYT Unveils Connections Hints for Sept. 20 Puzzle

The New York Times on Saturday released four concise hints for its daily Connections word game, guiding solvers through categories of automobile brands, sports-bar fare, NHL team members and sky-related terms.

The popularity of Connections has soared since its June 2023 debut, with daily hints helping players preserve win streaks and conquer trickier, color-coded groupings.

Category Hints

• Yellow group hint: Vroom-vroom!
• Green group hint: Is it happy hour?
• Blue group hint: Hockey time.
• Purple group hint: Look up.

How the Hints Work

Players tap the hint icon on the Connections board to reveal the color-coded cue most closely tied to one of the four groups. Hints appear in ascending order of difficulty, from yellow (easiest) to purple (hardest), enabling strategic guesses without full spoilers.
